Welcome to Old Smithy Candles and Melts 🕯️

 

I’m Chris, the founder and candle maker behind the brand.  I am a full-time wheelchair user and I normally lead a very active life, but a long period of bed rest left me searching for something to keep my mind active and to relieve the boredom. That’s when I discovered the art of candle and wax melt making. What started as a way to pass the time soon turned into a real passion.

I began making small batches of candles and melts for my wife and I to enjoy around the house and to help get rid of the doggie smells from our two lovely Flat-Coated Retrievers. Soon after, friends and family started asking what that lovely smell was when they visited, obviously not the dogs! So, I increased the batches I was making and gave them to friends and family as gifts, seeing how much they enjoyed them.

While I don’t have plans to grow into a huge operation, I love what I do and hope to bring a little warmth and wonderful fragrance to others while covering my costs along the way. Each candle and melt is made with care and precision, using high-quality ingredients to create beautiful, long-lasting scent throws.
